ABSTRACT:
Dynamic agroforestry systems (DAS) are born as a production alternative to conventional agriculture. Despite the fact that the Shared Space in Agroforestry Systems (ECO-SAF) network has been working and promoting these systems since 2008, it didn ́t have a study on agroecosystem services. In that case, the present study estimated the agroecosystem services provided by the DAS of the ECO-SAF network. For this purpose, the study included four stages and used the Agroecosystem Services Capacity Index (ICSA) methodology. It was determined that the DAS have a relevant to medium-high capacity to provide agroecosystem services. Agroecosystems with cover crops that have DAS provided a greater diversity of services (from 18 to 22, with a maximum of 23). Additionally, results of this research can be a reference point for other agroecosystems. It was also determined that DAS are an excellent alternative for sustainable land use because they offer a high diversity of services. For this reason, it is recommend to promote them in the inter-Andean valleys of Cochabamba to scale the multiple socio-environmental benefits. Finally, the potential of the ICSA methodology as a planning tool is evident, because it shows which agroecosystems provide the greatest agroecosystem services.
